The Proposal

12-08-18 the best is yet to come!!

I would love for you all to comment your wedding tips and secrets as I do not have anything planned! This man pulled off the the ultimate surprise! Here’s our proposal story:
Early last week he told me that his buddy and his buddies wife were coming to town for the weekend. So, we planned on dinner and downtown activities. My mom came over on Monday, as she does every Monday and told me that she’d come over around 3:00pm on Saturday to watch our son for our double date. I legit said to Spencer, “what in the heck are we going to do for all that time?!” #parentlife  We got to Saturday and Spencer said our friends were on their way and we headed for downtown. We stopped at a wine bar (because, me) and while we were there we got a call from his buddy that they made it to town and to meet them at The Falls (That Falls is what Sioux Falls is named after, legit waterfalls). We headed there and it was freezing and I could not see this couple anywhere. I was so annoyed, I said “Ok, why don’t you just call them and ask where they are!” I was not dressed for 15 degree sight-seeing! We walked over to a landing and he turned and said that he was lying, that they weren’t coming to The Falls with us. He said a few sentences and then proposed, which honestly I don’t remember much of what he said, I was SO shocked! He then told me to look over there and it was a photographer taking the pictures! We had an hour or two to kill before our reservations so I asked him if we could just move the reservation up, he said no. I said well we could just go there early and whenever they are ready we can get seated. Again, his response was we can’t do that. So we checked out a new restaurant, went to Best Buy (random) and then arrived at our dinner spot. During dinner he mentioned that we needed to have an engagement party now. I thought, OK, whatever. As we’re walking out of dinner; there’s a party bus waiting for us at the front door and my (oldest) sister pops her head out! As I walk onto the bus, it’s filled to the max with all (4) of my siblings and our closest friends! Some of these friends traveled more than 4 hours just to be here with us! I had 0% idea this was even coming!! We had never looked at rings before! Four years and a baby later, we’re engaged! Let the planning begin!
