I finally got around to decorating the basement and it feels so good! I’m a firm believer in that decor can completely change a space and make it feel more like your own, your home! We kind of did the top down method… we started with the nursery (we were expecting when we moved into our first home) then we did our room, the living room… Having said that, there are still things missing or needing replaced upstairs, but for the most part I feel like it’s presentable. Having a newborn in the Fall/Winter, we didn’t spend any time downstairs because it’s always colder and we were farther away from everything we needed for our babe. I can confidently say now that we love the basement more than the upstairs! The two biggest changes were the shiplap wall project and our new furniture. All of the furniture that we brought to our house was a combination of our own homes before living together, nothing new. We finally caved to replacing the downstairs (the upstairs still needs replacing).
Decor is so fun to pick out! Besides clothing, it’s my favorite thing to shop for. I see something and the wheels start turning in my head with what I can do with that piece. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my downstairs tour in my stories. I love sharing this with you all because we do not live in a huge house, we are on a budget and are in our starter home. But guess what?! You can still have an adorable, trendy space that you can be proud of. I hope to always be relate-able and genuine with you all! Below are some pictures of our new decor and furniture!
